Belly Dance Classes in Auckland

Native to North Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, belly dancing is based on one of the oldest social dances in world history. During this belly dance class you will learn how to make the exotic and sensual movements of this ancient art, as well as how to control your body. Held in our central Auckland Studio, these Belly Dance Classes will help you feel beautiful and confident, and you will allow you to get in touch with your sensual side!

NEW 8 Week Belly Dance Courses

Starting from April we will run courses not only for beginners, but also for intermediate level

8 Week Beginner Course

This course is designed for students new to belly dance or seeking a belly dance refresher. No dance experience necessary.

Students will learn basic belly dance technique, including posture, a brief introduction to the history, context, and philosophy of belly dance, as well as a brief introduction to Middle Eastern music. Choreography will be taught to incorporate new movements. Come celebrate femininity through an ancient, life-embracing art!

During the course you will learn

· Basic stance

· Basis isolations in hips, heart & head including circles, figure eights

· Shimmies

· Traveling steps

· Undulations

· Hand and arm movements

· Transitions as combinations

· Beginner veil technique

8 Week Intermediate Course

This course is suitable for the someone who has finished Belly Dance beginner course or has done Belly Dance somewhere else and now wants to take the skills further.

You will take all the basic techniques from the beginners course one level up, gradually increasing the complexity.
